Cabinet Minister, Tessa Jowell MP, visited New Cut Housing Co-operative in South London on 19 January.

One of the good things about co-operative housing is the supportive communities which co-ops develop. This shows in the mutual help and support which neighbours give to each other. Keeping in touch with elderly, disabled or vulnerable neighbours during this cold weather, which looks as if it could be the harshest for over 20 years, is particularly important.

CDS Co-operatives is pleased to announce that our executive director, David Rodgers, has been elected as President of the Housing Sector of the International Co-operative Alliance.

The CCMH have launched their findings into the UK co-operative and mutual housing sector in their report ‘Bringing Democracy Home’ at an event at the House of Commons, sponsored by The Co-operative Bank, on the 24th of November.

David Rodgers, Executive Director of CDS Co-operatives, has contributed an article to a report published by the charity Shelter promoting different ways to increase the development of affordable housing.
