Consumer Standards

Sep 10, 2025

Consumer standards are rules that social housing landlords must follow to make sure tenants are treated fairly and live in safe, good-quality homes. These standards cover things like keeping your home in good condition, making sure you feel safe, treating you with respect, and listening to your views. Landlords must be open about how they run things and give tenants chances to be involved in decisions. If something goes wrong, landlords are expected to fix it quickly and properly. These standards are set by the Regulator of Social Housing to protect tenants and make sure housing services are delivered well. At CDS, we’ve already taken steps to meet these standards, including reviewing our services with you, listening to your feedback and updating the information available on our website.

Our Chief Executive, Tom Bremner, has overall responsibility for making sure we meet these standards and stay compliant. If you have any feedback or questions, please contact us on 020 8551 0080 or email talktous@cds.coop.

How can tenants get involved?

Tenant involvement means giving you a real say in how your housing is managed. This could include giving feedback, joining resident panels, helping to shape services, or taking part in surveys and meetings. Your views help us understand what matters most to you and make improvements that reflect your needs. We’re committed to working with you to make sure your voice is heard and acted on.

To get involved, ifyou have any feedback or questions, please contact us on 020 8551 3100 or email talktous@cds.coop. You can also have a chat with your housing officer next time you see them near your home.

Thank you and looking forward to hearing you very soon
