Lynsted Housing Co-operative is a small estate of 17 properties on the edge of Teynham village, near Sittingbourne, and is surrounded by open countryside. The Co-op contains a few one bedroom flats as well as some two bedroom houses, and they form a small estate. The remaining properties on the site are owned and managed by Swale Housing.
The Co-op was built by CDS Co-operatives in 1996 becoming fully independent and signing a management agreement with CDS in 2002. The committee are involved in lettings.
All properties have fully fitted kitchens and bathrooms, central heating and double glazing. The houses are semi-detached with driveways and have large back gardens and open front gardens. The flats have a shared car park and drying area with private gardens for the three ground floor properties. The service charge covers communal area gardening.
The estate is a ten minute walk from Teynham village which has local shops, a station, and buses to Sittingbourne and Faversham. There are two local primary schools.

Applications for housing
After internal transfers, 50% of vacancies are given to Swale Council for nominations from their housing register and 50% from the co-op’s own waiting list. Contact Swale Council to register for housing.
