About
Hatherley Housing Co-operative is a shared ownership scheme of twelve one bedroom flats in a three storey block. There are four flats on each floor. It is set in Hatherley Road, a residential area close to the High Street in Sidcup. The flats have a communal garden at the front and communal pathway which leads to the rear of the building. There is also a shared access road leading to five garages and a residents’ carpark. There are also a couple of visitor parking spaces. The properties have fully fitted kitchens and bathrooms, double glazing, gas and electricity facilities, and roof and cavity wall insulation.
The committee at Hatherley has not met for a while but residents are considering reviving this. CDS as freeholder is responsible for ensuring that communal repairs and decorating are done along with essential safety checks and works. Residents pay a service charge which covers communal gardening, cleaning and lighting, communal repairs, ongoing cyclical maintenance and servicing/inspections. Residents also contribute to a maintenance provision for more major works.
The High Street in Sidcup is a short distance away and there are a range of facilities including shops, banks, restaurants and public houses. The train station is also within walking distance, close to the other end of Hatherley Road. Regular bus services operate from Sidcup High Street.
