About
Blenheim Housing Co-operative was finished in 1995 and is located in a secluded cul-de-sac on Aerodrome Road, Hawkinge. It is part of a larger development of other housing association and privately owned properties. The estate where the co-op is built was formerly part of Hawkinge Aerodrome, famous for the strategic role it played in both the first and second world wars. To commemorate this the co-op and its roads are named after planes that flew from the Aerodrome.
The co-op contains 42 houses with mainly 2 or 3 bedrooms. The properties have fully fitted kitchens and bathrooms, double glazing, and gas fired central heating. The houses have their own front and back gardens and individual parking spaces.
The village of Hawkinge lies 3 miles north of Folkestone. Local facilities include a community centre, playing fields for local use, shops, a health centre and two local primary and secondary schools.
Blenheim Housing Co-op has contractual tenancies.
