Earlier this year we sent a local service standards questionnaire to every tenant of CDS Co-operatives and also to the tenant-members of a small number of co-operatives which do not currently have an active management committee. We would like to thank everyone who returned their survey form.

Local Service Standards questionnaire

We will use the results of this survey to address local concerns and to improve services. The survey will also inform the “local offer” we will be making to residents early next year. Every registered provider of affordable housing is required by the Tenant Services Authority to make a local offer to its tenants. The local offer is intended to meet the needs and aspirations of particular groups of residents. You can find out more about 'Local Offers' on the TSA’s website.

Some of the most significant results of the local service standards survey are shown below:

We asked how satisfied you are with some of the services we provide

77% of you said you are satisfied with the service provided by the customer services helpdesk; 69% are satisfied with estate services; 74% are satisfied with the condition of their home and 72% said they are satisfied with the repairs service

 We asked you about the way we answer telephone calls

75% of you are satisfied with the time we take to answer your calls.

 We asked how you prefer to be consulted

64% of you prefer to be consulted by a circular letter; 49% would prefer to be consulted through the newsletter.

 We asked if you think antisocial behaviour is a significant problem on your estate

30% of you said ‘Yes it is’; 52% of you said ‘No it isn’t’

 We asked you who you thought should be primarily responsible for tackling antisocial behaviour

58% of you said ‘the police’. Only 5% of you thought the council should take the lead. 

 We asked for your views on who we should use to carry out repairs

41% of you want us to employ our own repairs operatives; 23% want us to continue to use private contractors.

 We asked if you would like to be able to report repairs using text messaging

42% of you said ‘Yes you would’

 We asked what improvements you would like us to make to your home

57% want better windows; 42% of you want a new or improved kitchen; 42% said they would like a new or improved bathroom
