If we provide you with any services, your rent will include a service charge. Service charges cover many things such as lighting in shared areas, landscaping, cleaning, closed-circuit television, entry phones, TV aerials and the cost of providing a caretaker.
Service charges are included in your rent. If you want to know exactly what service you are paying for, please get in touch with your co-operative support officer who will be able to give you a breakdown.
Any tenant has the right to see how we work out the service charge. If you ask, we can give you a summary of the costs. If you are not satisfied with the summary of the costs, you may ask to see our accounts, receipts or other papers.
If we consider making changes to any service, we must ask you for your comments. We will consider your comments before we make a decision and give four weeks’ notice of any change. We will only withdraw a service after consulting the tenants it will affect. If you are not satisfied with the standard of service, you can make a complaint using the complaints procedure. You can ask for a copy of the procedure.
Please phone the Help Desk for a copy or speak to your co-operative support officer. The complaints procedure is also available from our website at www.cds.coop.
