Ways to move
Hopefully, you will not want to move for a long time! However, you may want to move home because your needs change, or you need to change location for work or social reasons. There are several ways of moving home.
Exchanges
There are various ways to find out about other people who are also looking for an exchange or swap. You could look at the lists kept at the council offices or you could advertise in your local shops or the local papers. When you have found an address you think might be suitable, it is up to you to first contact the tenant. You then need to get our permission.
Homeswapper
If you need to move to another part of the country, maybe for a job or to take care of a relative, we may be able to help you under the Homeswapper scheme. You should contact our lettings officer on lisa.jaldoo@cds.coop for more information.
Transfers
If you have a good reason for wanting to transfer into another property on the same estate, you will need to fill in a transfer application form. Please contact your co-operative support officer or phone our lettings officer. If you want to move somewhere else, you can apply to the relevant council to go onto their housing register. In limited cases, we may be able to help you to transfer to another of our properties somewhere else.
