evicting tenants

We cannot evict you from your home unless you decide to leave willingly or you have broken one or more conditions of your tenancy. We would first need to get a possession order from the county court. We follow the strict procedures set by the court. Once the court has decided that we may evict you, then we will take action to do so.We do not want to evict anyone and we only do so when there is no alternative. Please try to keep to the conditions of your tenancy.

We will only evict you if you break your tenancy after we have got a court order. Examples of this would include:

  • not paying rent;
  • damaging the property you live in and not keeping it in good condition;
  • causing danger, nuisance, or harassment to neighbours, our employees or our agents, or allowing your visitors to do so;
  • not living in the property as your main home;
  • carrying out illegal or immoral activities on the premises;
  • refusing to provide access for a gas safety inspection;
  • providing false information when applying for housing;
  • assaulting or threatening our staff; and
  • persistently playing loud music or behaving in any other antisocial way.
