Tenant and Client surveys

From time to time we use surveys as a means of consulting with residents on possible changes to our service provision and to assess levels of satisfaction with the existing services.  When we carry out these surveys you will find the results published in this section of the website.

The results of these surveys are scrutinised by the Resident Quality Services Committee, which is made up of residents from our client co-operatives, so that we can make improvements to our services.

Local Service Standards survey 2010

Earlier this year we sent a Local Service Standards questionnaire to every tenant of CDS Co-operatives and also to the tenant-members of a small number of co-operatives which do not currently have an active management committee. We would like to thank everyone who returned their survey form.

We will use the results of this survey to address local concerns and to improve services. The survey will also inform the “local offer” we will be making to residents early next year. All registered providers of affordable housing are required by the Tenant Services Authority to make a local offer to tenants before 31 March 2011. You can find out more about local offers on the Tenant Services Authority’s website.

 Status surveys

Every few years, like every other significant registered social landlord in the country, CDS Co-operatives sends out survey forms to find out the views of the tenants, homeowners and members of its client co-operatives. This survey is known as the Standardised Tenant Satisfaction Survey, usually shortened to STATUS.

The survey consists of about 50 questions and covers a wide range of topics, including:

  •  the quality of the homes we manage
  • repairs and maintenance
  • contact arrangements
  • housing services
  • anti-social behaviour
  • participation
  • age, ethnicity and disability.

Why do we carry out a STATUS survey?

We carry out the survey because the Tenant Services Authority (formerly the Housing Corporation) requires us to do so and because the results of the survey tell us what our tenants, homeowners and the tenant members of our client co-operatives think about the services we provide. This helps us make sure that our services are consistently of a high standard and also highlights any weaknesses.

Making STATUS relevant to co-op members

CDS Co-operatives has customised the STATUS survey specifically to meet the needs of housing co-operatives. In order to make sure our survey is of the highest possible standard we appointed Ipsos MORI, one of the UK’s leading market research companies, to carry it out.

We hope you returned your form, thank you to those that did, it helps us to improve our services to you.
