Townshend Close Housing Co-operative comprises of 32 properties in four blocks providing 16 one bed and 16 two bed flats. It is situated in the Footscray area of the London Borough of Bexley. The flats form a crescent within Townshend Close itself which contains other housing association and Bexley Council properties.

The estate was developed in the late 1980’s by CDS Co-operatives. Residents took control in 1994 when they began to function as an independent fully mutual co-operative. CDS Co-operatives has provided management services since 1994 when the management agreement was formally agreed and signed.

Properties benefit from electric storage heaters and fully fitted kitchens. The development is secure with an entry phone system to each of the 4 blocks. There are communal gardens to the rear of the flats which are maintained to a high standard by the co-operative. The co-operative completed a bathroom replacement programme in 2006.
