Bonham and Strathleven Tenants Co-operative consists of 42 units in the heart of Brixton between Bonham Road and Strathleven Road. All of its properties are street properties which are a mix of 14 one bed two person flats, 13 two bed three person flats, 6 three bed four person houses, 1 four bed five person house, 3 shared units and 5 bedsits. Most of the properties are pre 1930’s and the newest were built in 1993.

Formed in the early 1980’s, it is an independent fully mutual co-operative and came under the management of CDS Co-operatives in the late 1980’s.

All the properties have central heating and some have feature fire places. Only the newer properties have double glazing, the rest are normal sash windows. All parking is street parking in a controlled parking zone. Some of the properties possess security lighting and the upkeep of communal areas for the flats is the responsibility of the tenants.

There are a number of good bus transport links to the city, west end and Croydon and Brixton tube station is also close by. Shops, Brixton Market, Brixton Recreation Centre and the Flaxman Centre are in close proximity and the nearest hospitals are Kings College Hospital and St. Thomas’ Hospital.

Bonham and Strathleven Tenants Co-operative issues contractual tenancies. Lambeth Council has 50% nomination rights and the co-operative has a waiting list of provisional members that is reviewed and opened periodically.
